You must provide an installation process for the user of your visualization. You must also provide an uninstall process for the user. The current version of Windows Media Player does not install visualizations from the user interface.
Installing to the Visualization Folder
Visualizations literally let you watch your music move. Once you’ve downloaded a visualization, you can find it in your Windows Media Player under the ‘View’ pull-down menu. Or, when you’re playing your music, you can scroll through the visualizations on your computer by using the arrows in the status area of the player. While using Windows Media Player and listening to an Audio CD, a user who chooses the 'Plenoptic' visualizations cannot switch to Full Screen mode and defaults back to a windowed mode, even though it's listed as an available option. The other set of Full Screen visualizations, 'Ambience', work just fine. This is a video of the former visualizations of Windows Media Player. Nowadays, they are very rare to find. You often have to mix up the wmp.vis files from e.
It is recommended that you install all visualizations in the Visualizations subfolder of the folder where Windows Media Player is installed.

Registering Your Visualization
Visualizations are COM DLLs and follow all the normal rules of installation and removal. You can use regsvr32.exe or other installation tools to register your visualization.
